Estimate only, not a quote. Excludes fees and charges. Uses only the figures you enter and assumes the rate stays the same for the whole term. It isn't an offer of credit. Actual repayments depend on the lender's assessment, fees and terms.
Understanding balloon payments
A balloon (or residual) is a lump sum you owe at the end of the loan. It lowers your regular repayments, but you'll pay more interest overall and need a plan for the final payment, such as selling, trading in or refinancing the asset. Balloons are common on car and business asset loans.
Weekly, fortnightly or monthly?
Paying more often doesn't change the rate, but it can line up better with your pay cycle. Some lenders let you make extra repayments, so check for early repayment fees.
